Search Tips and Help for Audio Network Production Music

Audio Network's Catalogue of over 40,000 production music tracks is easy to search - follow these simple tips to find your ideal track.

1) Keyword Search

To find your ideal track, try entering strings of words or adjectives into the Quick Search box in the top left hand corner of the site. Our music experts recommend using the 'MISS' acronym:

M - Mood
I - Instrument
S - Style
S - Speed

E.g. 'fast optimistic indie rock' or 'slow sad orchestral cello'

2) Browse by Category

Our music catalogue has been comprehensively categorised allowing you to fine-tune your search by drilling down through different levels to find the tracks you want:

•    Genre: Comedy to romantic, children to sport. Each genre also has a selection of sub-genres.
•    Popular Styles: The most popular styles and moods. A good place to start.
•    Ambient/Textural: For when you need sound design and atmospheric tracks.
•    Mood/Atmosphere: This is all about the FEEL of the track: sad, happy, panoramic etc.
•    Instrumentation: Search by featured/solo instrument, voice, percussion and orchestral.
•    CD Listing: If you want all the tracks from one CD, they're all here.
•    Composer: Find all tracks by each composer on this button.

3) Advanced Search

By combining the points above in the Advanced Search, you can mix categories and keywords at the same time. You can even refine your search for tracks in particular keys or tempos as well as a number of other parameters.

If you want to match a specific track use the beat calculator, which will tell you the tempo of your original track - then use the Advanced Search to find all tracks in the same style and at the same speed.

Working with your tracks:

When you've got the tracks you need, here's what you can do with them:

1.    See and audition alternate mixes by clicking on the 'mixes' button (archery board). Here you'll find instrumentals, underscores, shorter mixes and stings.

2.    Audition the track by clicking on the speaker icon.

3.    If you're registered as an online member you can save the track to a project by clicking on the folder icon.

4.    Buy and Download the track by clicking on the £ sign.
